Nyheden is a school for grades 7-9 with approximately 215 students. We work closely together to create comprehensive solutions for the students. Our work is based on the student's opportunity for development and learning throughout the day. We have a high percentage of qualified teachers and strive for a good working environment for both students and staff. Nyheden school works purposefully with knowledge, safety, and well-being.

The Department of Children and Education has about 800 employees. The department's activities extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school F-9, adapted primary school, after-school care, food and cleaning services, mother tongue, and library services.

A Day as a Swedish Teacher

As a Swedish teacher at Nyheden school, you will meet engaged students and colleagues who want to move forward together. You plan and implement teaching based on clear goals and common structures - always with the student's learning in focus.

In several classes, we work with co-teaching, which means you plan and teach together with a colleague. This allows for more support for the students, greater flexibility in teaching, and good opportunities for collegial learning.

The day can include everything from joint presentations and problem-solving in pairs to laboratory elements and digital work. You follow up on students' knowledge development and work closely with both mentors and student health to create the best possible conditions for learning.

Collaboration in work teams is a natural part of everyday life with us. We share experiences, plan common themes, and support each other in developing teaching.

Your Competence

Requirements:

Teaching degree with qualification to teach Swedish in grades 7-9
Good ability to create structure, study peace, and engagement in the classroom
Ability to adapt teaching based on students' different needs and conditions
Good collaboration skills and willingness to contribute to the school's joint development work
Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Desirable Qualities:

Subject combination with SVA or English
Experience teaching in secondary school
Experience in assessment, grading, and digital learning tools
Experience working with formative teaching and collegial learning
Interest in development work, equity, and student influence
